The Board of Directors of THIRD ACTion Film Festival is pleased to announce the appointment of Norman S. Leach in the role of part-time Executive Director for THIRD ACTion Film Festival. Norman has a lengthy career defined by strategic leadership, cultural innovation and a deep commitment to community development across multiple sectors including the arts, non-profit and international sectors. He was founding member of GlobalFest, one of Canada’s most recognized cultural festivals as well as having held several senior leadership roles for organizations such as Nickle Arts Museum and The Military Museum in Calgary, the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association, Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce and other western provincial Chambers of Commerce, Alberta Trade Office (Mexico City) and Grey Cup Calgary. He has previously volunteered for THIRD ACTion as well as Jeunesse Classique Ballet. A passionate military historian, Norman was consulting historian on several historical documentaries, the Canadian Heritage Minutes series and the Paul Gross film Passchendaele. We welcome Norman to THIRD ACTion.

At the same time, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our outgoing Executive Director, Lyn Cadence who has worked for the past three years to ensure that THIRD ACTion could continue its mission of using film to create a more inclusive and accurate dialogue about aging. An amazing multi-tasker, Lyn was responsible for fundraising, sponsorship/partnership development, marketing, communications, programming, infrastructure and financial management. She also managed to oversee two THIRD ACTion film festivals and engage in strategic planning initiatives for the future. From all of us at the THIRD ACTion board, thank you Lyn for all that you accomplished.
